“My journey with Melissa began in the walker line at school. She has a calm demeanor but gives off an aura of strength. I felt like I needed to get to know her.  I asked her where she was headed in her workout gear.  I’m so glad I did.Training and balance coaching with Melissa has helped me see that I am capable of achieving more out of life. Initially I had the simple goal of getting back into shape after a back injury. As I worked out with Melissa, I quickly started to regain the confidence that I could work out without back pain and progress towards my fitness goals. “I was about 6 months from turning 40 and realized I needed to get healthy and strong so I could keep us with my kids (3 and 6 at the time) for the long haul. Additionally, my orthopedic surgeon was telling me knee replacement might be the only way to fix the pain. I've had knee issues since I first tore my ACL skiing in 1996. Melissa has been amazing. I've always been active, but I do not enjoy working out. Honestly, I still don't, but it's a means to end and ultimately it does make me feel better, both mentally and physically. I'm convinced Melissa's emotional IQ is off the charts. She has the ability to connect and hone in your strengths and weaknesses, both physically and mentally to get you where you want to go and further. At 40 I'm stronger and in better shape than I have been my whole life. I even workout when I'm not with Melissa. I still don't enjoy it, but I do it. At my last orthopedic surgeon appointment he said whatever you doing keep doing it. We've paused the lubricating knee injections and cortisone until the pain comes back, which also means no replacement. This winter I was able to ski as hard as I did when I was in my 20s. As an added bonus I look better too. I'm also able to show my kids the importance of being healthy and strong.”
